Maybe y’all remember my weird adventures with the BIG Pencil. I made a song called Big Pencil Energy, and even traveled with a Big Pencil to Ireland to give it to author Erika Everest, who won it in a costume competition.
Today, I introduce you to BIG Book Energy.
Josh O’Neill, founder at Beehiive Books, has built a publishing house on going beyond the book to create incredible, immersive experiences for readers.
He’s led projects that range from massive books (that can’t fit on any shelves) that reimagine the work of lost cartoonists, to an immersive ARG Dracula story, to beautiful illuminated special editions of classic stories.
You can check out all of Beehive Books’ Kickstarters here (raised over $1 million) and their latest Kickstarter here, which features an illuminated edition of Hawthorne’s Greek Myths.
Today, Josh shares with us:
His tips for fundraising on Kickstarter after 20+ successful campaigns
How to work with creatives in all different fields to launch and develop never-before-seen projects
How Josh and the Beehive team decide which wild idea to launch next
Actionable tips on how you can provide an incredible experience to readers and grow your income by going beyond the book
You can listen here 👇
And that’s it for this one!
I’ll see you all soon for another edition of the Author Sidekick Newsletter.
In the meantime, don’t forget…
Together we are boundless,
Michael Evans
P.S. Want to turn your book into a hit film with AI? I wrote an entire book about it you can read for free here. It will help you expand into the new frontier of indie storytelling!
